The Flamescar Plateau has known war for generations. Beneath its scorched earth lie weapons, relics, and artifacts left behind by countless armies that have fought and died across the Realm of Fire.
Now, two great forces converge upon the plateau.
From October through December, players will take part in The Wrath of Flame, a five-session Age of Sigmar narrative campaign. Players will be divided into two opposing teams and battle for control of the Flamescar Plateau, forging temporary alliances, capturing territory, and recovering powerful artifacts that can change hands as the campaign progresses.
Campaign Format
The campaign is divided into five two-week sessions. During each session, every player will receive an assigned opponent and will have the duration of that session to schedule and complete their game. Players will remain with the same faction throughout the campaign, but they are free to change their army list from session to session.
Each team will also have a Captain responsible for helping coordinate the team's strategy and making important teamwide decisions. This isn't simply a collection of individual games. Every battle contributes to the larger struggle for control of the Flamescar Plateau.

Fight for the Flamescar Plateau
The campaign revolves around a map representing different areas of the Flamescar Plateau. Each territory features its own battleplans and rewards, giving teams a reason to decide carefully where they commit their forces.
At the beginning of each session, players may be assigned roles such as Invaders or Protectors. Invaders are sent to attack specific areas of the campaign map while Protectors attempt to hold the opposing team's territory. Victories can capture locations, alter control of the map, and provide new resources for the battles ahead.
This means your battle matters beyond simply winning or losing. You may be defending a valuable stronghold, launching an assault to seize an important artifact, or fighting somewhere specifically chosen as part of your team's larger strategy.
Flamewrought Artifacts
Scattered across the plateau are powerful Flamewrought Artifacts.
Controlling certain areas gives a team access to these special campaign enhancements. Teams decide how to distribute their available artifacts among their players each session, allowing Captains and teammates to coordinate who carries their most valuable relics into battle.
But possession is never guaranteed.
If the bearer of a Flamewrought Artifact is slain, the opposing team can gain access to that artifact during the following session. Physical artifact cards will represent these relics and will actually move between players as artifacts are captured and lost throughout the campaign.
Army Building
Games will use the General's Handbook 2026-27, with additional campaign rules modifying battleplans and scenarios.
Players will build a 2,000-point army for their chosen faction each session. You are not locked into a single army list, so your force can evolve as the campaign develops.
Armies of Renown are permitted, Legends are legal, and Unique units may be used. Players are encouraged to reflavor Unique units as their own original characters where appropriate to help build the narrative of their force. New rules released during the campaign become legal at the beginning of the following session.
Hobby Progress Matters
The campaign also rewards players for building and painting their armies during the event.
The Fresh Recruits campaign ability provides an in-game benefit to units painted during the campaign, giving players another reason to finally finish that unit, hero, or reinforcement that has been waiting on the painting desk.
Campaign Scoring
Players earn Emberstone Shards through their battles:
-
Playing a game earns 1 Emberstone Shard
-
Winning earns 2 Emberstone Shards
-
Winning while your team began the session behind in Emberstone Shards earns 3 Emberstone Shards
Certain territories can also provide additional Emberstone Shards once their associated artifact has been claimed. To help keep the campaign competitive, players on the team currently behind in Emberstone Shards receive an additional Command Point for their game during the following session.
