If you missed the Brush essentials class, or want to take it again, this is another time to take it. Its a class I really enjoyed and look forward to sharing again!

This class is designed to be for every level of painter we have in the community. Be it your first time holding a brush, or you're a seasoned painter with award winning pieces.

The class is going to cover the fundamentals of brush skills, technique, and the understanding of what, how, and why we do certain things in our painting.

The class will be part lecture/discussion/ intentional q&a, a short demo of painting and then you will be practicing painting, with personal feedback where I will go around to help you with the technique one on one.

For newer painters: My aim for this class is to provide you with provide you with a digestible but thorough explanation of actionable knowledge to apply to your choices in painting, start of you off with a high level of understanding of different brush strokes to use, as well as give you feedback throughout our hours of guided practice applying them during the class.

For advanced painters: This class will bring your awareness to unpacking many of the things you maybe already do, and help provide a clearer framework to then make decisions in your painting process more intentionally. It will also serve to brush up (ha) on some of the fundamentals that often go untaught in what started out for many of us as a hobby which we got better at over time, but never really had technique taught to us.
(A note: for it It has really been helpful lately to observe my painting process more objectively, and break it down, in order to up my enjoyment and improve my techniques, this can be done without interrupting the natural flow of the painting process)

In this class we will cover:

Paints-
Properties, uses, and an understanding of: what is a paint? How are types of paints different from one another? (inks, contrast, washes, heavy bodies etc) What paint do I choose for X project/effect? Is X brand better?

Properties of a Brush-
How does a brush actually work and how do I allow it go best transfer paint to the miniature? What makes a brush "good"? Why are some brushes more expensive and why would/should I invest in those?

How to apply paint to a miniature-
Base coats, Smoothness, brushstrokes, loading a brush, how to paint without bumps and streaks (or how to paint with them purposefully).
